Temple Talents Receives Over 1,000 Children's Books from Enjuba

May 21, 2026

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, Temple Talents Centre received 23 boxes of children’s books from Enjuba, in collaboration with the Africa Library Project.

The donation contained over 1,000 children’s books donated by supporters in the United States and was handed over to our Library and Literacy team during a ceremony held at the Enjuba offices in Kampala. It also included additional books produced locally by Enjuba.

Before receiving the books, our team, together with representatives from other organisations that had come to collect their own donations, participated in a full-day library training. The training covered practical aspects of establishing and managing a library, organising books, and building a reading culture among children and communities.

The books are now being shelved in our community library in Soroti, where children from slum communities and other underserved backgrounds will be able to access them for reading on-site or borrow them free of charge.

The donation strengthens our commitment to nurturing lifelong learning and creating opportunities for children who have limited access to books, reading materials, and safe spaces for reading, writing, and learning.
